"Children must be allowed to share their feelings without being judged." - Sherry Skyler Kelly, PhD
A portion of each book's profits will be donated to the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Fund, which supports biomedical research focusing on rare diseases. The Ara Parseghiadical Research Fun was formed in 1994 when Cindy and Mike Parseghian’s three youngest children— Michael, Marcia, and Christa—were diagnosed with Niemann-Pick Type C (NPC) disease, a rare and deadly neurodegenerative disorder that primarily strikes children, with death occurring before or during adolescence.
The family launched the foundation and named it after the children’s grandfather, Ara Parseghian, the much beloved and well-known Notre Dame football coach. Since then the APMRF at Notre Dame is dedicated to finding a treatment or cure for NPC disease.

Your Tiger Inside - A New Children's Book to Help Children Embrace The Power of Their Emotions.
West Hartford, CT, August 30, 2024 -- How do we help young children explore and understand their emotions? Authored by Sherry Skyler Kelly, PhD, a Clinical Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience working with children and families, Your Tiger Inside provides easy-to-understand ways to help readers of all ages understand as well as communicate their emotions. Your Tiger Inside provides an easy-to-understand approach to embracing emotions, by guiding readers into a journey of self discovery through the story of two little kitties, Toby & Tabby.
Your Tiger Inside tells the story of two little kitties who learn how to better understand and communicate emotional needs. The kitties learn that emotions are not to be judged, or feared. Rather, emotions serve special purposes! By listening to their own tiger inside, they learn how emotions can help them better understand what they need to feel safe, secure, and empowered.
"Emotions can be a child's super-power when they understand what those emotions are alerting them to or telling them," said Dr Kelly. Your Tiger Inside provides parents and educators with an effective strategy for promoting social-emotional learning. "Because children are experiencing greater levels of distress than ever before, I wrote Your Tiger Inside to provide a timely and positive approach to understanding emotions as having a special purpose."
Dr Kelly's professional experience helping children and family with rare diseases inspired her to partner with Ara Parseghian Medical Research Fund. Ten percent of the profits from each book sold will be donated in support of the Ara Parseghian Fund at Notre Dame, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a treatment or cure for Niemann-Pick Type C (NPC) disease, a genetic cholesterol storage disorder that primarily strikes children with death before or during adolescence.
